Mr. Wiechert teaches Biology and Physics. He is also the sponsor for the Rube Goldberg team.
Mr. Wiechert received his Bachelor Degree in Geology with a minor in Physics from Southeast Missouri State University, and his teaching certification from Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis. In 2006, Mr. Wiechert completed a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology from Southwest Baptist University, and has a combined 30 graduate hours in Biology from St. Louis University and Miami University, Ohio.
He began teaching science in 2001 in St. Louis, MO, then in 2007 he moved to Champaign, IL to teach technology. In 2011, Mr. Wiechert moved to Chicago to teach Biology at St. Scholastica Academy. After the closing of St. Scholastica, Mr. Wiechert spent two years teaching in CPS before coming to Luther North.
Mr. Wiechert lives in the Peterson Woods neighborhood of Chicago with his wife and two daughters. Along with his family, he has a dog, cat, tarantula, and fish. In his spare time he plays with his children, travels, and enjoys woodworking.
