Mrs. Lynne (Vana) Exley, Class of 1964

Served on Numerous Foundation Boards from 1970-2010
While attending Luther North, Lynne received the Outstanding Service Award for the Girl’s Service Club in 1964. Lynne received her Bachelor of Arts from Northern Illinois University in 1970 and a Master of Arts from West Virginia University in 1983. Lynne taught in the Ohio County Schools from 1970 to 1982 during which time she co-designed and coordinated the Career Based Experience Education Program, the first ESEA-IV-C program in 1976. Lynne co-authored Wheeling Rediscovered, A Bicentennial Project of Ohio County’s Public, Private & Parochial Schools in 1976.
Lynne has been a valuable community leader, serving as a board member for several organizations, including Chair of the Board of Governors of West Liberty State College. Currently, Lynne is a board member for the West Liberty University Foundation and the West Virginia Independence Hall Foundation. Lynne is also active in Vance Church, serving as both Elder and Deacon.
Lynne is married to Ben and has two daughters, Jennifer and Allison, and currently resides in Wheeling, WV.
