SADD

Students Against Destructive Decisions, or SADD, was founded in 1991 in an effort to raise awareness of substance abuse. Today, the organization has more than 10,000 chapters in the United States and New Zealand.

The Luther North chapter of SADD sponsors activities and events that promote the prevention of substance abuse and encourage teens to unite with their friends to make positive and healthy choices. By emphasizing shared responsibility among students for their decisions and for the decisions of their friends, teens are encouraged to consider the effects their choices will have on others.

At Luther, SADD members are especially active during homecoming and prom. By creating and placing posters around the school, they encourage students to enjoy themselves, but to make good, sound decisions while doing so.
