Wright College Partnership
Luther North is proud to announce a unique and exciting partnership with Wright College, offering an excellent way for our students to get a jump start on their college careers. After this program, students will graduate from Luther North with a high school diploma and a college transcript, possibly an associate’s degree, from Wright College.
All eligible seniors will have the opportunity to take pre-approved courses. Academic eligibility is determined by a student’s ACT scores. A student who has not yet taken the ACT will take a placement test to determine his or her eligibility. In addition, students will need a teacher recommendation as to their ability to do independent work, motivation, and maturity. Students will take these courses at Wright College in the mornings and take Luther North classes in the afternoons. Students are also allowed to take courses in the late afternoon, evenings, and on weekends. For morning courses, a Luther North bus will transport the students to Wright College and then transport them back to Luther North. Starting in the 2011-2012 school year, we will expand this program to juniors as well.
If the Dual-Credit Program at Wright College is funded by the state, there will be no additional charge for the courses. If it is not funded, Luther North will split the cost of up to two morning courses per year with families. Books are an additional cost.
