Mr. Hilty graduated from Capital University in 2004 with a B.A. in social studies and liberal arts. He received his M.A. from North Park University in education in 2011. Mr. Hilty began teaching at Bishop Watterson High School in Columbus, Ohio in 2005, and spent 4 years teaching history, psychology, as well as coaching football and strength and conditioning. In 2009, he moved to Chicago to coach NCAA football at North Park University. Upon graduating from North Park, Mr. Hilty spent the next 6 years teaching and coaching at St. Benedict Preparatory School on the north side of Chicago.

Mr. Hilty played both football and track and field in college, as well as spent two years coaching and playing football overseas in Europe. He has tried to use his diverse background and experience in education and coaching to help high school students develop and grow. Mr. Hilty is an avid outdoorsman, who loves fishing, hiking, and cross-country road trips. He lives in Edgewater with his wife Melissa, and 2 year old son Clayton.
