Considering Luther North?
Luther North High School is a friendly school with responsible and bright students in a positive Lutheran Christian environment. LHN students can feel safe and relaxed in and out of the classroom and can choose to be involved in a variety of clubs, sports, athletics and other events. A college prep program is in place for those who are eligible for that program.
Our faculty members are very helpful and always willing to help out in times of personal and academic need. Our average class length is forty-five minutes and the average class is about twenty students.
A homeroom is assigned at the beginning of the year and students then report to that room every day for attendance, announcements, and an informational news special called Channel One. On the first day of each school week a Chapel Service is held which all students are required to attend. LHN is affiliated with the Lutheran Church and welcomes people of all faiths.
Luther High School North admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic or other administered programs.

Let’s face it: Like many other schools that want you to attend their school, Luther North wants you as a Wildcat. The question you and your parents need to answer is why pay for that? Parochial or private schooling is expensive and you need to know what you get for your parent’s money. The answer is simple.
Two Senior girls who were both members of the Wildcat Homecoming court came into the cafeteria and saw someone they hadn’t met. They immediately went to the new student and said, “You’re new here. What’s your name?” and talked to a transfer student for 45 minutes and made her feel welcome. We’re proud of our talented faculty but the truth is they’re just the beginning of the Wildcat experience. True Wildcat pride lies in our students and always has.
Add to this the fun to be had during Winterim and the growth you realize at the end of your high school career that we call “Portfolio” and you’ll not only find opportunities to grow personally and in knowledge, but a home.

One of the advantages of being a student at Luther North College Prep is that you get the best of all worlds. You are encouraged and enabled to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
First and foremost, you get one of the best educations possible every day you are here. Secondly, you are encouraged not only to excel in the classroom, but to also involve yourself in extra- and co-curricular activities. Research by the American College Testing Corporation (ACT) has shown that successful people have the attribute of having participated in two or more extra- or co-curricular activities while in high school.
The emphasis of the total educational experience at Luther North centers on fulfilling the school’s mission to enable students to reach their potential and become lifelong learners through a challenging academic curriculum in a Christ-centered, diverse learning community. What this means is that each student is not only given the opportunity to succeed and excel, but also to serve and lead. This is reflected in the curriculum and school activities by learning opportunities that are interactive and collaborative. This means that learning will be “active,” not “passive.”
Students are enabled to take an active part in their own learning and are provided opportunities inside and outside of school to collaborate with others who may have the same interests.
