Frequently Asked Questions

1.) What are the entrance requirements for a freshman student?
Each student wishing to enter the freshman class must show evidence of his/her 8th-grade graduation from a recognized elementary school. In addition, the student needs to complete following steps: complete the application, take the admissions test, obtain/send a copy their 7th/8th-grade report card, and obtain/send a copy of their 7th-grade test scores.

2.) What payments must accompany the application?
We do not require an application fee. We do however require each applicant to take the placement test, and there is a $25 fee for that.

3.) What is the cost of tuition?
You can find current tuition information on the Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid page. Parents of incoming freshman should download the Incoming Freshman Complete Tuition, Fees & Financial Aid Packet, and current/transfer students should download the Current and Transfer Student Tuition, Fees & Financial Aid Packet.

4.) Is financial aid available?
Yes! Information can be found on our Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid page. Parents of incoming freshman should download the Incoming Freshman Complete Tuition, Fees & Financial Aid Packet, and current/transfer students should download the Current and Transfer Student Tuition, Fees & Financial Aid Packet. PLEASE NOTE For the 2017-2018 year, freshmen applicants need to register for the DECEMBER 3RD, 2016 Admissions Testing Date. Students who do not register/complete the Admissions Test on this date will not be eligible for scholarships and/or financial aid.

5.) What placement tests are required for admission?
We require students to complete the High School Placement Test (HSPT). We must have a complete application and the prospective student must pay the fee.

6.) Where are these admission tests held?
The tests are held here at Luther North College Prep. You must be preregistered, paid the testing fee and have a complete application in order for you to take the test.

7.) Must I take the admissions test before I can be considered for acceptance?
Yes, you must take the admissions test in order to be considered for acceptance to LNCP.

8.) When will I find out if I have been accepted at Luther North?
Notification of your acceptance will be sent as soon as all required materials mentioned above have been submitted, and the admissions test has been taken.

9.) When will I find out what courses I will be taking my freshman year?
Accepted students will be contacted in late spring to meet with the Registrar to review the results of the admissions test, and to choose the courses the student will take in their freshman year.

11.) What are the course levels available?
Standard courses, Advanced classes, and Advanced Placement courses are available to provide challenging, yet suitable academic environment. Advanced Placement Classes can be used to obtain both high school and college credit.

12.) Must one be affiliated with a Lutheran church in order to attend Luther North?
While Luther North is maintained and supported by Lutheran congregations in the area, students of all religious backgrounds are welcomed to our student body.

13.) Do all Luther North students come from Lutheran elementary schools?
No. Although the majority of each freshman class has had this background, about 50% of our students have come from public or other private schools.
